Chand Raat Iftar– Celebrating Ramadan with Purpose

  April 11, 2025

In March 2025, TCF Netherlands hosted its first-ever Chand Raat Iftar, bringing together 100 community members in the spirit of Ramadan to support a powerful cause: education for underprivileged children in Pakistan.
Chand Raat, which means “Night of the Moon,” is the evening when the new moon is sighted, marking the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid. It’s a festive night when families and friends go out shopping, apply henna, and prepare for the Eid celebration the next day.

Held during the most charitable time of the year for the Muslim community, the event combined celebration with impact, tradition with purpose.

Led by an exceptional team of volunteers, the event was a beautifully organized afternoon filled with warmth, community, and reflection. Guests enjoyed a festive atmosphere marking the end of Ramadan while contributing to a mission close to our hearts.

The Iftar Gala raised vital funds to support the same TCF school in Korangi Sindh, Pakistan for the 2025–2026 academic year. The school provides quality primary education to 180 students, with 101 female students benefiting from continued access to learning in a safe and supportive environment.

The event showcased how culturally significant moments like Chand Raat can be transformed into opportunities for meaningful giving. It also reflected TCF Netherlands’ growing presence across Dutch cities, engaging more families and individuals in the mission to make education accessible for all.

We extend our deepest appreciation to TCF volunteers and to everyone who participated. Our Dutch community’s support ensures that children thousands of kilometers away can continue learning, dreaming, and building brighter futures.

Together, we look forward to scaling our efforts throughout 2025—with the goal of supporting two schools through collective action and generosity in the academic year 2025-26!
